PRIZES

All Prizes will be handed to the Captain of the Boat and or to a person assigned by the Captain of the Boat. The crew must be present at the Awards to receive their prize, if not; prize will be given to the next Winning Boat.

Level 1:

1st place: Will be awarded to the boat with most overall points.

2nd place: Will be awarded to the boat with second most overall points.

3rd place: Will be awarded to the boat with third most overall points.

Heaviest Blue Marlin Prize: Will be awarded to the Boat that caught the Heaviest Blue Marlin during the Tournament, excluding the fish that breaks the Tournament Record. In this case the second largest fish of the Tournament will be awarded the prize for the heaviest fish.

Contender Record Prize: Will be awarded to the Boat that caught the biggest fish weighing at least ½ of 1% more in weight (˃ 813.4 lbs) than the current record of 809 lbs. (See Tournament Rules for conditions)

Heaviest Tuna: Will be awarded to the boat that caught the heaviest Tuna during the tournament.

Heaviest Wahoo: Will be awarded to the boat that caught the heaviest Wahoo during the tournament.

Heaviest Dolphin: Will be awarded to the boat that caught the heaviest Dolphin during the tournament.

Best Angler: Will be awarded to the Angler that scores the most points during the tournament.

Level 2 | White Marlin Challenge:

The White Marlin Challenge will be awarded to the team that scores the most overall White Marlin points in the tournament over the three (3) days of fishing. In the event that no team entered in the level 2 White Marlin Challenge catches or releases a White Marlin, the White Marlin Challenge entries will be rolled over to next edition (2019), less a 25% fee.

Level 3 | Blue Marlin Challenge:

The Blue Marlin Challenge will be awarded to the team that scores the most overall blue marlin points in the tournament over the three (3) days of fishing. In the event that no team entered in the level 3 Blue Marlin Challenge catches or releases a Blue Marlin, the Blue Marlin Challenge entries will be rolled over to next edition (2019), less a 25% fee.

Level 4 | Billfish Challenge:

The Billfish Challenge will be awarded to the team that scores the most overall  points in the tournament over the three (3) days of fishing. In the event that no team entered in the level 4 Billfish Challenge catches or releases a billfish, the Billfish Challenge entries will be rolled over to next edition (2019), less a 25% fee.

In all cases the decisions made by the Committee are irrevocable and final.

CALCULATION OF CASH PRIZES

Proportionate to number of entry fees.

45% of inscriptions go to tournament expenses.

  • 1st Place Winner: 20% of inscription fees + trophy + 1000 liters of fuel + OWC 2018 Invitation + 5  pairs of Costa sunglasses and gift bags
  • 2nd Place Winner: 15% of inscription fees + trophy + 750 liters of fuel+ 5  pairs of Costa sunglasses and gift bags
  • 3rd Place Winner: 10% of inscription fees + trophy + 500 liters of fuel+ 5  pairs of Costa sunglasses and gift bags
  • Heaviest Blue Marlin: 10% of inscription fees + trophy
  • Best Angler: Trophy
  • Contender Record Prize: 2018 Contender 25’ bay boat (valued at $100,000.00)
  • Heaviest Tuna: 250 liters of fuel + trophy
  • Heaviest Wahoo: 250 liters of fuel + trophy
  • Heaviest Dolphin: 250 liters of fuel + trophy

Level 2 | White Marlin Challenge (optional):

  • Proportionate to number of entry fees. (Min: 2 boats)
  • 25% of inscription fees go to tournament expenses.
  • WHITE MARLIN CHALLENGE: 75% of inscription fees

Teams must be entered in the level 1 base entry to enter the level 2 White Marlin Challenge

Level 3 | Blue Marlin Challenge (optional):

  • Proportionate to number of entry fees. (Min: 2 boats)
  • 25% of inscription fees go to tournament expenses.
  • BLUE MARLIN CHALLENGE: 75% of inscription fees

Teams must be entered in the level 1 base entry to enter the level 3 Blue Marlin Challenge.

Level 4 | Billfish Challenge (optional):

  • Proportionate to number of entry fees. (Min: 2 boats)
  • 25% of inscription fees go to tournament expenses.
  • BILLFISH CHALLENGE: 75% of inscription fees

Teams must be entered in the level 1 base entry to enter the level 4 Billfish Challenge.
